Interventional cardiologist Dr. Brijeshwar Maini, a structural heart cardiology, advanced and complex heart disease expert joins PBHNPG
Delray Beach, Fla. – September 18, 2015 – Palm Beach Health Network Physician Groups (PBHNPG) is pleased to announce Brijeshwar Maini, MD, FACC, a structural heart cardiologist and the Regional Medical Director of Transcatheter Therapies for Tenet Florida, has joined the Palm Beach Health Network Physician Groups (PBHNPG) multispecialty physician group network. Dr. Maini is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology. As a structural heart cardiologist, Dr. Maini specializes in treating advanced and complex structural heart disease using a minimally invasive approach. Dr. Maini’s areas of interest include: transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), percutaneous mitral valve repair (TMVR), left atrial appendage closures (Watchman device), endograft repair for abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysms, and percutaneous ventricular assist devices (VAD). He is a national proctor for TAVR, TMVR, LAA closure procedures as well as a proctor for aortic diseases. Dr. Maini has a keen interest in research and has participated in more than sixty cardiovascular research trials and also has been the national PI for some of the research trials. He is very involved in the development of interventional echocardiography especially 3D intracardiac imaging as well as fusion imaging. Dr. Maini is widely published in the field of cardiovascular medicine. He has opened an office in Delray Beach and is on staff at Delray Medical Center, Palm Beach Gardens and Florida Medical Center, a campus of North Shore located in Fort Lauderdale.
For his education and training, Dr. Maini completed his cardiology fellowships at the University of California, San Francisco Cardiovascular Institute in San Francisco, CA, and Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Maini’s training focused on interventional cardiology at Hahnemann University Hospital. He also graduated medical school from Christian Medical College, Punjab University.
Prior to joining PBHNPG, Dr. Maini worked as director of structural heart and advanced cardiovascular interventions at Pinnacle Health Cardiovascular Institute, medical director of the Pinnacle Health Valve Clinic as well as the director of research at Pinnacle Health Cardiovascular Institute. Dr. Maini has extensive experience in developing structural heart programs.
Dr. Maini was a pioneer in performing many firsts in the history of structural heart cardiology. He has trained numerous cardiologists and surgeons in these procedures. During his professional career, Dr. Maini has maintained excellence in running a very busy clinical research practice and expertise in reading nuclear and echo imaging studies. Dr. Maini is also level II trained in Cardiac CT. He has been practicing medicine since 1990. Dr. Maini is fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi.
