Vascular neurologist joins Palm Beach Neuroscience

West Palm Beach, Fla. – July 3, 2017 – Palm Beach Health Network Physician Groups is pleased to announce Juan Ramos-Canseco, MD, a vascular neurologist, has opened an office with the Palm Beach Neuroscience Institute (PBNI). Dr. Ramos-Canseco’s areas of interest include stroke, neurocritical care and intracranial monitoring. He is on-staff at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach and is a member of the Advanced Neuroscience Network (ANN).

Prior to joining PBNI, Dr. Ramos-Canseco completed a vascular neurology fellowship from the University of South Florida in Tampa and a neurosurgery fellowship at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque, NM. Preceding his fellowships, Dr. Ramos-Canseco finished a neurology residency at Rutgers University School of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick, NJ. Dr. Ramos-Canseco completed his internal medicine internship at Hospital Universitario Ramon Ruiz Arnau in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. He earned his medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine Dominica in Portsmouth, Dominica.

Dr. Ramos-Canseco is currently a sub-investigator in a few ongoing multi-center trials such as the ACTIsSIMA trial which is a phase 2B controlled study monitoring the safety and efficacy of implantation of modified stem cells in patients with chronic motor deficits, the ARREST trial which studies the effects of early administration of Apixaban after acute stroke, and the RESPECT-ESUS which compares use of Dabigatran vs. Aspirin for prevention of stroke recurrence in embolic strokes of an undetermined source. His other research publications and interests include intracranial multimodal monitoring and pediatric demyelinating diseases. Dr. Ramos-Canseco is trilingual in English, Spanish and Japanese.
