Consequences of not taking care of your heart include a greater risk of health conditions like stroke and heart attack — all of which can be deadly. Heart disease reigns supreme as the No. 1 killer in the United States, causing approximately 610,000 deaths annually, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
