Boca Raton, Fla. – December 3, 2020 – Erica R. Podolsky, MD, FASMBS, a highly-experienced general surgeon with expertise in bariatric and minimally-invasive surgery has joined Palm Beach Health Network Physician Groups (PBHNPG) in Boca Raton. Dr. Podolsky specializes in weight loss surgery, anti-reflux procedures as well as robotic laparoscopic abdominal surgery. Currently, Dr. Podolsky is the Medical Director of the Surgical Weight Loss Program at Delray Medical Center. Dr. Podolsky is certified by the American Board of Surgery and Fellow, American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS).

Prior to joining PBHNPG, Dr. Podolsky worked for South Palm Beach Surgical Associates and on-staff at Delray Medical Center and West Boca Medical Center. Presently, Dr. Podolsky is an affiliate associate professor of clinical biomedical science at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. She also holds the role of director of medical students at Delray Medical Center.

For her education and training, Dr. Podolsky finished a fellowship program in minimally-invasive and bariatric surgery from Duke University, Durham, NC. Dr. Podolsky also worked as a clinical professor at Duke University. Prior to her fellowship training, Dr. Podolsky completed her internship, general surgery residency at Drexel University located in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Podolsky graduated medical school from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University also located in Philadelphia.

Throughout her medical career, Dr. Podolsky has authored numerous medical book chapters and original medical research papers. Dr. Podolsky has presented her research findings at national medical society meetings and participated in the panel at several grand rounds presentations at Drexel University’s College of Medicine and Saint Peters University Hospital located in New Brunswick, NJ. Dr. Podolsky has been practicing medicine since 2006.
