Physician Spotlight Feature – Jordan Luskin, MD, MS, Urologist, Good Samaritan Medical Center, Palm Beach Health Network Physician Group

Tell us about yourself.
I was born and raised outside of Baltimore, Maryland. I went to Emory University for my undergraduate degree, Tulane University for graduate school, and Georgetown University for both medical school and for my residency program in urology. I have two children; a son and a daughter.

What brought you to Good Samaritan Medical Center?
I came to Good Samaritan Medical Center for the remarkable opportunities to grow a world-class-urology program. This hospital has exceptional resources; four da Vinci Xi robots, a Moses Laser, and a UroNav MR/Ultrasound guided fusion biopsy system. The hospital is truly on the cutting edge of surgical treatments.

What is the favorite part of your job?
The favorite part of my job is how much I get to improve my patients’ quality of life. Urology is a field that deals with very personal issues, and we get to make great improvements in a person’s quality of life.

Growing up, what did you want to be?
I knew I wanted to be a doctor when I was 12 years old and took my first biology class.

What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy scuba diving, skiing, hiking, music, video games, and reading.
If you could have dinner with one person, living or dead, who would it be?
Linus Pauling; an American chemist, biochemist, chemical engineer, Nobel Prize winner, author, and named one of the 20 greatest scientists of all time.

If you could only eat one thing the rest of our life, what would it be?
Egg, bacon, and cheese sandwiches.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
X-ray vision: which would make it much easier for me to treat kidney stones without needing a separate X-ray machine.
