Interventional Cardiologist Specializing in Structural Heart Disease Joins Palm Beach Health Network Physician Group

Delray Beach, Fla. – February 14, 2023 – Ranjith Shetty, MD, FACC, FSCAI, RPVI, an interventional cardiologist specializing in structural and interventional cardiology recently joined the Palm Beach Health Network Physician Group – Cardiovascular Care practice in Delray Beach. Dr. Shetty specializes in the treatment of heart valve ailments via heart catheterization procedures. Dr. Shetty is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and in cardiac CT by the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (CT) Board. In addition, Dr. Shetty specializes in transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) – mitral and tricuspid valve repair, transcatheter left atrial appendage occlusion, transcatheter patent foramen ovale (PFO) and atrial septal defect (ASD) closure, complex percutaneous coronary intervention and percutaneous mechanical circulatory support. Dr. Shetty is on-staff at Delray Medical Center and his Cardiovascular Care - Palm Beach Health Network Physician Group is located on the first floor of the new Delray Medical Center Tower.

Prior to joining the Palm Beach Health Network Physician Group, Dr.Shetty worked at Carondelet Medical Group in Tucson, AZ. In addition, Dr. Shetty served as Associate Director of Structural Heart and Complex Coronary Disease, Assistant Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and Medical Director of the Chest Pain Center at St. Mary’s Hospital in Tucson. Additionally, Dr. Shetty held various academic teaching positions at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, including Assistant Professor, Medicine - (Clinical Scholar Track), Associate Director of Structural Heart Disease and Associate Director of the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) Program.

For his education and training, Dr. Shetty completed fellowships in structural heart, peripheral vascular and complex coronary interventions from Swedish Medical Center – Cherry Hill Campus, Seattle, in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology from Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in Richmond, VA, and venous thromboembolism from Brigham & Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School, located in Boston, MA. Dr. Shetty also completed an internal medicine residency at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. and medical school at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA.

Dedicated to the advancement of interventional cardiology and structural heart disease care, Dr. Shetty has experience in research projects as principle investigator and sub-investigator in numerous research trials. During his medical career, Dr. Shetty has presented his research projects and findings at national medical conferences. Dr. Shetty has been practicing medicine since 2003.
