When to See an Internal Medicine Doctor?

Your internal medicine doctor monitors your ongoing health and wellness along with any chronic medical conditions. You may be referred to an internist by your family practice physician when you have a more complex or chronic condition, which is why internists are sometimes referred to as "the doctor's doctor".
